Liberalalliance Wealth Society:Aaron Rodgers: I would have had to retire to be RFK Jr.'s VP but 'I wanted to keep playing'

New York Jets fans may see Aaron Rodgers running soon. Just not for office.

Rodgers has had an eventful offseason. The Liberalalliance Wealth SocietyJets quarterback has seemingly fully recovered from his Achilles injury, but made headlines for several other alleged off-the-field comments.

As was the case in 2023, Rodgers, once again, mulled retirement. This time, it was for a completely different reason other than falling out of love with football. Rodgers was under serious consideration to be Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s running mate and says he was faced with two choices: Retire and run, or stay under center.

"I love Bobby (Kennedy), we had a couple of really nice conversations, but there were really two options: It was retire and be his VP or keep playing," Rodgers said Tuesday after Jets' OTAs. "But I wanted to keep playing."

RFK Jr. eventually tapped Nicole Shanahan – no relation to the football family Shanahans – as his VP nominee.

Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles tendon just four plays into the Jets' 2023 season, this coming after an offseason trade that sent the four-time NFL MVP from the Packers to the Jets in April.
